MTNL’s bank loan defaults stand at ₹8,346 crore

The defaults in loan payment have occurred between August 2024 to February 2025. The total debt on MTNL comprises ₹8,346 crore bank loan, ₹24,071 crore sovereign guarantee (SG) bond, and loan of ₹1,151 crore from Department of Telecom (DoT) for paying SG bond interest.
