Maharashtra Day 2025: Date, history and significance

Maharashtra Day commemorates the founding of a state on May 1, 1960. On this day, the state of Bombay was split into two: Maharashtra, which is home to Marathi and Konkani speakers, and Gujarat, home to Gujarati and Kutchi speakers.
