Maharashtra Government renames Islampur to Ishwarpur

The Maharashtra government has decided to rename Islampur in Sangli district to Ishwarpur following a cabinet meeting on July 17. The move, announced in the legislature, awaits central government approval after a demand from the Hindutva group Shiv Pratisthan.
