Recycling lithium-ion batteries a ‘great economic opportunity’, says ICEA chief

Pankaj Mohindroo, Chairman of ICEA, believes recycling lithium-ion batteries is a “great economic opportunity” as India’s electric vehicle and solar storage sectors grow rapidly. He also emphasised the urgent need to set up large recycling factories within the next three to five years. However, he pointed out that challenges remain due to limited technology access in the informal recycling sector.
