Pahalgam terror attack: India’s response must be bold, imaginative and
Tensions are simmering at the Line of Control (LoC) between India and Pakistan after the terror attack in Pahalgam left 26 people dead. Indian army chief General Upendra Dwivedi is in Srinagar to take stock of the security situation. Sources say the army chief has directed all officials in J&K to remain on high alert. Meanwhile, the cabinet committee on security, India’s highest decision-making body on national security, unleashed its response against Islamabad on several fronts. The Indus Waters Treaty has been suspended. All visas to Pakistani nationals have been cancelled. India has also downgraded its diplomatic ties with Islamabad by reducing its mission strength. Pakistan has been asked to do the same.
